Verizon has cut 8500 jobs in New York State and slashed its workforce in New York City by 37% over the last decade. Meanwhile, customers in many parts of the City still can’t get FiOS, leaving them at the mercy of their cable company.
Already, hundreds of customers have reached out to CWA to complain on WheresMyFiOS.com.
When it received its franchise from New York City in 2008, Verizon promised FiOS would be available to every NYC household by 2014.
It’s time for Verizon to stop cutting good, family-supporting jobs in NYC and start delivering FiOS to every New Yorker who wants it. New Yorkers are uniting to hold Verizon to its commitment.
