Members at Mercy Hospital of Buffalo vote 96% "YES" to strike!

In an amazing show of unity, CWA Local 1133 members at Mercy Hospital in Buffalo, NY just voted 96% YES in a strike vote.

The Mercy Hospital contract expired on June 4, 2016. Members are fighting against inadequate staffing levels, deplorable working conditions, and disrespectful management. They are putting the pressure on Catholic Health to prioritize patient and worker safety over executive bonuses and to stop breaking the laws that protect us as union members.

The vote showed that CWA members are strong and unified. The Union and the Hospital have several bargaining dates scheduled throughout the months of July and August. It is the Union’s intent to continue bargaining with the hope of reaching a new contract with this employer.
