CWA Local 1170 Reaches Tentative Agreement at Frontier

 

On July 22, 2015 CWA Local 1170 and Frontier have reached a Tentative Agreement covering 370 workers. Through the united efforts of our members and supporters, we were able to reach an agreement that met the bargaining objective of our members.  The agreement includes meaningful wage increases, holding the line on health insurance contributions, and job security protections.   The Company and the Union have agreed to continue to expand the Rochester CNOC by adding 41 jobs to that operation.  On August 4th members of CWA Local 1170 are voting to ratify a new 3 year agreement with the following enhancements: General wage increases of 6.75% over 3 years along with maintaining the guaranteed bonus payout of 4.5%.   Holding the line on health insurance contributions at current rates for the duration of the contract along with an increase in retirement contributions.   Job security provisions that protect clerical work from being transferred out of the bargaining unit  as well as maintaining  commitment to keep and grow Network operation center in Rochester.   Protection of technician work by guaranteeing 100% dispatch to side of house on all High speed internet orders.  Extending the enhanced severance Mou to provide for enhanced severance pay and extension of benefits in case of force reduction.  Addition of 45 new jobs to bargaining unit overall.   The enhancements could not have been achieved without the strength and solidarity of the membership who were prepared to strike if necessary, the solidarity of our brothers and sisters of cwa Local 1298 and the full support of the National Union.
