Building Member Power Through Stewards Trainings

Knowing that a strong and powerful union starts with a strong internal structure, CWA Locals in New Jersey have ramped up their internal organizing and membership training efforts, including multiple stewards trainings over the past month.

In early April, Local 1038 held a two-day training with 22 new stewards covering grievance handling, mobilizing members to build power in every worksite, organizing conversations to sign up non-members, the importance of political action, and more.

On April 13, Local 1085 had a one-day training with thirty stewards, discussing union benefits and rights, grievance handling, political action, and internal organizing and new member signup.
