Activision Blizzard Workers Strike to Fight for Their Union and for Gender Equity
Nearly 500 Activision Blizzard King (ABK) workers in New York, Texas, California, and Minnesota walked off the job on July 21st to demand that Activision Blizzard sign a neutrality agreement to prevent union-busting as the workers organize, as well as to protest the recent Supreme Court decision to overturn Roe v. Wade and to demand gender equity.
The demands for the Walkout to End Gender Inequity included:
A labor neutrality agreement similar to the one recently signed by Microsoft
Option for all ABK workers to work remotely.
Cost of living adjustments
Assurance that the workers’ health insurance provider will continue to cover transgender and reproductive healthcare
Relocation allowances
Regular meetings between Management and the workers’ Committee Against Sex and Gender Discrimination
CWA Local 1118 members joined the ABK workers’ on the picket line in Albany, NY to stand in solidarity with the workers who recently filed for an NLRB election to join Local 1118.
