THANK YOU

Thank you to those who joined hundreds of thousands of union volunteers across the country to fight for working class power during this election. We will pick ourselves up by our collective bootstraps and organize, but bigger and better.

Congratulations to CWA-endorsed candidates Maggie Hassan - a true champion for working families - who won her US Senate race in New Hampshire and Todd Kaminisky who was reelected to his NY State Senate seat in Long Island. Wall Street-backed charter school expansion was dealt a blow in Massachusetts after ballot Question 2 - which would have lifted the cap on charter schools - was voted down.

We have to organize. It's up to us to move forward to fight for a better future.

GET INVOLVED

A Message from CWA President Chris Shelton:

Dear Colleagues:

CWA did the best political work in our history. We had record numbers of volunteers, more engagement, and more financial contributions than ever.

Unfortunately, the results on Election Day were not what we had worked towards.

The labor movement now is more important than ever for working families and our nation. We are the first, and in many cases, the only defense against attacks on working families and retirees, and insatiable corporate greed. We play a critical role in safeguarding the rights of minority groups and fighting to advance civil rights.

I have called a face-to-face Executive Board meeting for December where we will discuss our next steps and chart our course to take on the challenges ahead.

We will not stop fighting for progress for working families and we will not back down. We will stand together in solidarity against those who want to weaken our union and destroy the achievements of generations of workers.

Together, with courage and right on our side, we will stand up to any attack on CWA members, retirees and their families, and all working people.

In Unity,

Christopher M. Shelton
President

CONGRATULATIONS! THE TRANS-PACIFIC PARTNERSHIP (TPP) IS DEAD

For more than five years, CWA members, allies, and working families have been fighting to kill the TPP and we have succeeded. We exposed this disaster of a trade deal for what it was, and we're ready to take on any attempt to revive it.

Congratulations to all our members who worked so hard to make this happen.

TRUMP TRANSITION TEAM RECOMMENDS HEDGE FUND CEO STEVEN MNUNCHIN FOR US TREASURY SECRETARY

Hedge Fund CEO Steven Mnuchin has been recommended for U.S. Treasury Secretary by Trump transition advisors. It’s difficult to think of a nominee who better embodies the culture of Wall Street greed than the longtime Goldman Sachs partner. He personally profited during the financial crisis.
