Becca Miller Named to Lead CWA District 1’s Legislative & Political Department

New York, NY — The Communications Workers of America District 1, announced today that Becca Miller has been named Director of the District’s Legislative & Political Department, where she will lead the union’s legislative and political work across New York, New Jersey, and New England. Miller previously served as the District’s Legislative Director, bringing deep experience in political and legislative affairs and ensuring continuity across the union’s core programs and initiatives.

“Becca has been an invaluable leader within our union with years of experience, the trust of our membership and our leadership, and we are confident in her ability to guide the team and move the union’s comprehensive legislative and political agenda forward in this crucial time,” said Dennis Trainor, Vice President, CWA District 1.

Becca is an experienced organizer and campaign strategist who has driven the CWA’s efforts to increase universal access to high-quality broadband and good telecommunications jobs, New York’s landmark 2021 healthcare staffing law, and numerous other legislative campaigns to improve working conditions for New York and New Jersey’s working families. With years of experience working in the legislatures in Massachusetts and New York and leading groundbreaking campaigns, she is well-suited to lead CWA’s Political Department. She received an MPA from Robert F. Wagner School of Public Service at NYU. 

In this new role, Becca will be responsible for leading the union’s legislative and political priorities, supporting contract campaigns, and guiding CWA’s political education and training program.
