CWA ANNOUNCES FIRST ROUND OF MAJOR CONGRESSIONAL ENDORSEMENTS FOR FIVE CANDIDATES WITH TRACK RECORDS OF FIGHTING FOR WORKERS
Suozzi, Jones, Ryan, Riley, Mannion Get CWA Nod
NEW YORK - With a major election year already unfolding and fresh off of a huge victory in the Special Election earlier this month in New York's 3rd Congressional District, the Communications Workers of America District 1, announced their early endorsement today of five candidates for Congress in districts that are expected to be hotly contested. CWA, with 65,000 members across New York, will back:
- NY-3 Tom Suozzi
- NY-17 Mondaire Jones
- NY-18 Pat Ryan
- NY-19 Josh Riley
- NY-22 John Mannion
"When unions vote, working people win," said CWA District 1 Vice President Dennis G. Trainor. "After two years of obstructionism and political gridlock in Congress, New Yorkers are fed up and ready to fight for real change. This election isn’t about one party vs. another, but about who will actually stand with working families and strengthen our country for regular people - not just the ultra-rich. The battle to take back the House runs straight through New York, and that’s why CWA is proud to announce our first round of 2024 endorsements for Congress! We’re ready to fight and win with candidates who we know stand with labor."
