PRESS CONFERENCE: Workers Launch Canvassing Event to Help Elect Assemblymembers Roy Freiman and Mitchelle Drulis

In the midst of a major campaign being spearheaded by the Communications Workers of America to put a stop to skyrocketing healthcare costs in New Jersey, union members will speak with voters in LD16 to advocate for elected leaders who are committed to bringing down costs

Princeton, NJ - On Saturday, May 31st at 9am public sector workers along with Assemblymembers Roy Freiman and Mitchelle Drulis will hold a press conference to kick off a union canvass event, speaking with voters in New Jersey’s 16th Legislative District about Assemblymembers Freiman and Drulis and their commitment to making New Jersey more affordable for working families.

New Jersey’s state and local government budgets are under enormous strain from rising healthcare costs and federal spending cuts. Since 2022, healthcare premiums have increased rapidly for huge portions of New Jersey’s population, including 40% for state workers 59% for local government workers. These skyrocketing healthcare costs are a core driver of the affordability crisis facing New Jersey’s public sector workforce. Taxpayers, public employees, state and local governments all demand relief.
