CWA Local 1298 Settles Tentative Agreement with Frontier Communications, Securing Several Big Wins

Ratification voting is being conducted now for the 2,000+ members of CWA Local 1298 at Frontier Communications in Connecticut, following several months of tough bargaining with a very tough company that has been intent on union-busting.

But Local 1298 held stronger and tougher, with members holding multiple rallies and mobilization events and trainings since the beginning of the year to put pressure on the company.

The local came to an agreement on September 10th on a new 3-year contract running through October 23, 2027.  

Highlights of the TA include:

  • Wage increases including retro pay going back to September 2024
  • Retirement protections with continuation of the existing pension plan, an increase to 401k matching, and maintaining retiree healthcare with a bridge to Medicare
  • Minimal healthcare premium increase and no increase toward out-of-pocket expenses, co-insurance, prescriptions, or deductibles
  • Protections for call center workers with a guarantee of no closing of centers for life of the contract
  • Improved Long Term Disability SPD Language  
  • And more!

Local 1298 members should have received ratification ballots in the mail; voting is ongoing now through September 23rd at 12pm noon.
