In City Council District 39 there are two great pro-labor candidates running. CWA recommends ranking Brandon West #1 and ranking Shana Hanif #2.
Brandon West is a NewsGuild-CWA shop steward from a union family. He served as co-chair for his local branch of the NewsGuild-CWA, and has worked his entire career to build a stronger democracy for all. His work in the Mayor’s office and the City Council gave him the experience he needs to be an effective city councilmember and his organizing work as a President of the New Kings Democrats shows he’s a proven leader for our communities.
