DISTRICT 1 STEPS UP TO FIGHT FOR JOBS ON CWA NATIONAL DAY OF ACTION
We’ve watched thousands of our jobs disappear thanks to big corporations like AT&T and Verizon sending work overseas, but last week we joined CWA members across the country to say NO MORE OFFSHORING.
On Wednesday, August 21st, CWA held a national Day of Action to call on Congress to put an end to greedy business practices that kill our jobs. CWA members across the country made nearly 2,000 phonecalls to Congress to demand an end to outsourcing with the No Tax Breaks for Outsourcing Act and the U.S. Call Center Worker and Consumer Protection Act - in District 1 alone we made over 450 calls.
While the Day of Action is over, the work to pass these two important pro-worker bills isn't done yet. You can help us keep the pressure on Congress to get this done! Make the call TODAY to demand action and keep good jobs in the U.S.
Dial 1-866-948-8977 to be connected with your member of Congress. Tell the person who answers the phone:
I’m a constituent and union member and I’m calling to urge my member of Congress to support the United States Call Center Worker and Consumer Protection Act of 2019 (H.R. 3219) and the No Tax Breaks for Outsourcing Act (H.R. 1711) to end offshoring and keep good jobs in our communities.
Congress needs to act now to protect workers and build an economy that works for everyone, not just the rich and powerful!
