SEN. BERNIE SANDERS JOINS CWAERS FOR MANHATTAN RALLY
Bernie Sanders, U.S. Senator and candidate for the Democratic Party presidential nomination, called out Verizon for illegally firing retail worker Bianca Cunningham and for its treatment of workers fighting for fair contracts during a surprise stop at a CWA rally outside a Times Square Verizon Wireless store.
Bianca will tell her story on the next Labor For Bernie Union Hall Call.

CAMDEN PUBLIC WORKERS RALLY FOR FAIR CONTRACTS
CWA Local 1014 and Local 1084 members held two rallies calling attention to their fights for fair contracts. Clad in CWA red, the workers held the rallies during their lunch breaks in front of the Camden City Hall.

Today is election day and District 1 members have been working hard to get out the vote. There is a lot at stake for unions and workers in this election. Make sure you get out and vote to have your voice heard.

LOCAL 1180 50TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION
CWA Local 1180 marked its 50th year as a union in New York City with a celebratory dinner on Friday, October 30. The Local honored CWA President Chris Shelton, Local 1180 Secretary-Treasurer Gloria Middleton, NYC Public Advocate Letitia “Tish” James, and Greg Mantsios, Director of the Joseph S. Murphy Institute.
AMHERST PASSES RESOLUTION TO SUPPORT SAFE STAFFING BILL
Monday the Amherst, NY Town Board passed a resolution to support safe staffing legislation. CWA Locals 1168 and 1133 have been working hard to lobby for legislation the would help ensure that patients in hospitals and nursing homes receive the quality care that they deserve.
CWAERS TAKE TO MA STATE HOUSE TO LOBBY AGAINST THE TPP
IUE-CWA Local 201 took to the Massachusetts State House to lobby for their resolution against the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), the trade deal that is poised to kill U.S. jobs, erode workers' rights, and give more powers to corporations.
