Local 1122 President John Mudie Named Grand Marshall of Buffalo Labor Day Parade
After being cancelled last year due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the Buffalo, NY Labor Day Parade is back this year, coming up on Monday, September 6th - with our own CWA Local 1122 President John Mudie as Grand Marshall!
The theme of this year’s parade is “Honoring Essential Workers,” making President Mudie’s appointment as Grand Marshall all the more special - and appropriate.
“I’m humbled to lead such a prestigious event,” President Mudie said at his Sashing Ceremony last week, attended by several elected officials as well as a large contingent of CWA members and Buffalo labor leaders. “And I am so looking forward to leading off the parade with our Essential Workers - from our health caregivers to those who drove trucks with items that people needed to the workers who stocked the shelves in supermarkets.”
The parade will kick off on September 6th at noon at the circle at Dorrance and McKinley in South Buffalo, with lineup at 11am.
