Working to Reverse Runaway Inequality

Did you know? Since the early 1970s, worker productivity in the United States has gone up (and up, and up, and up) while wages have mostly remained stagnant. If wages had kept up with productivity, an average worker would be making $1,632 per week today. But in 2021, average worker salary per week was just $883. So how did this happen? And what can we do about it?

CWA’s Reversing Runaway Inequality training is an opportunity for members to learn more about the roots of income inequality and what union members can do to fight back to tip the balance of power away from corporations and the ultra rich. On October 11th we kicked off a big month of RRI trainings with over 20 CWA members from Locals 1101, 1104, and 1109. The training was led by Local 1101’s Pam Galpern and Local 1109’s Leon Campbell and Jason Michael Gonzalez.
