Precision Strategies - Local 1101

Local 1101

On June 8th, three months after announcing their intent to form a union, workers at marketing agency Precision Strategies had their cards counted and the supermajority was verified by New York City Councilmember Carmen De La Rosa.

The workers, who are joining CWA Local 1101, wrote in a statement that they joined CWA “to ensure Precision meets objective standards for fair compensation, cost-of-living increases, pay transparency, flexible work policies, inclusive benefits, and to establish processes for clarity and accountability. Our union prioritizes equity so we can create a legal structure to ensure that every worker at Precision has real opportunities for growth, supportive management, and infrastructure to support our personal security and collective success.”

Workers at the Genesee Coop Federal Credit Union settled a first contract on June 2, after roughly 14 months of bargaining with the employer.

The workers voted to join the Communications Workers of America Local 1170 in late 2021, seeking to fulfill the stated mission of the Genesee Coop Federal Credit Union in being a community-based collective organization. Their election was certified by Arbitrator Mark Pearce on January 24, 2022.

“This contract is a great example of what can be achieved through collective action and partnership,” said John Pusloskie, President, CWA LOCAL 1170. “We’re excited to ratify this contract and ensure that the Genesee Coop Federal Credit Union is a great place to work for years to come. Workers at the credit union have a real seat at the table and compensation that reflects the value of their work.”
