VICTORY FOR NEW JERSEY CALL CENTER WORKERS

More than four years of hard work by New Jersey CWA members and allies paid off this month as Governor Phil Murphy signed the New Jersey Call Center Jobs Act into law on January 21st.

CWAers worked alongside members of the state AFL-CIO and IBEW Local 827, and fought to get the bill across the finish line at every accountability session, electoral screening, and lobby day with legislators. The bill was sponsored by State Senators Shirley Turner and Patrick Diegnan, and State Assemblymembers Daniel Benson, Shavonda Sumter, and Eric Houghtaling.

This is another huge victory in District 1 for call center workers, due in no small part to the amazing effort by our members to protect jobs!

New Jersey CWA members held numerous lobby days to push state elected officials to pass legislation protecting call center jobs.
