Thousands Of New Jersey State Workers Mobilize For a New Contract

2023 is a massive year for New Jersey State workers, members of CWA Locals 1031, 1032, 1033, 1036, 1037, 1038, and 1040. While representatives and leaders from each local along with District 1 leadership have been at the bargaining table over the last several weeks, members have been gearing up to help fight for the best contract possible.

Over the past several weeks, state workers have signed a petition in droves, demanding a fair contract:

"We, the Executive Branch employees of the State of New Jersey, stand united in our demand for respect and dignity through a good union contract. We are fighting for significant salary increases that recognize our current economic climate. We are fighting for affordable, quality healthcare, especially in light of the pandemic. We are fighting to modernize our workplaces in order to recruit and retain a talented workforce so we can provide the services NJ residents deserve."

More than 12,000 members from all seven locals signed the petition, which will be delivered to the State later this month.
