Several months of tough negotiations and strong mobilization throughout New Jersey, workers in CWA Locals 1031, 1032, 1033, 1036, 1037, 1038, and 1040 voted to ratify their 2023-2027 contract by a count of 94.01% to 5.99%.
The new agreement, which covers 35,000 workers in the State Executive Branch who make up the backbone of the State’s public service departments, includes significant salary growth, protects healthcare, recognizes that telework is a reality in many worksites that must be implemented fairly, and more. This contract also sets the stage for other unions representing state workers in New Jersey as they enter their own negotiations.
