Several Healthcare Locals Prep for Bargaining, Mobilize for Safe Staffing
On October 8th CWA Local 1133 held a Lead Mobilizer Training to strengthen member mobilization skills and ramp up their prep for contract bargaining coming up next year - their first round of bargaining since their historic 40-day strike in October 2021 fighting for better working conditions and safe patient care!
With bargaining coming up next summer as well at Kaleida Health Systems in Buffalo, Local 1168 members gathered together for their first Kaleida Bargaining Caucus.
And over a dozen CWA Local 1104 members in New York City who work at New York Presbyterian Downstate Hospital gathered on October 17th for a Mobilizer Training to discuss the New York State Staffing Law and how to make sure that all of our members understand the law and its enforcement - especially in light of recent pushback from the hospital against healthcare workers and our attempts to make sure that departments are fully staffed as the law requires.
