Regional Bargaining Report # 22: Be Ready at Midnight!

CWA District 1/IBEW Local 2213 and IBEW New England Local Committees met with the company this morning at the Rye Town Hilton in Rye, NY. With just 6 hours left before contract expiration, the company has yet to withdraw any of their retrogressive proposals. The company informed us this morning that they have another health care proposal to bring to the table. We are still waiting to meet to see this proposal.

With time running out the Company needs to withdraw these retrogressive demands. Obviously, the company has not heard us and at midnight they will hear how loud and clear we are – We want a contract!

Verizon seems hell-bent on destroying the middle class jobs CWA and IBEW have fought so hard to create over the last 50 years of collective bargaining.

It is time that Verizon invests in America and brings Good Jobs back into the bargaining unit. Corporations like Verizon should not be destroying middle class jobs. They should be helping to rebuild the American economy and sharing their success with the workforce that made that possible.  

We will not allow VERIZON to destroy the Middle Class
