First Contract for Local 1180 Members at Climate Change Organization Sunrise Movement
Workers at the Sunrise Movement, a youth-led organization advocating to stop climate change and create millions of American jobs, unanimously ratified their first union contract with CWA Local 1180!
“We are thankful for all of the workers and bargaining members whose vision and drive in these last nine months have made this a reality,” CWA and the employer said in a joint statement. “Strong unions are a core pillar of the Green New Deal. Our commitment to the labor movement and the dignity of all workers is crucial in our fight. We all benefit from a strong, pro-worker contract.”
The new contract includes groundbreaking protections against discrimination and innovative time off and leave provisions.
