Fighting for Clean Energy Union Jobs in Massachusetts

CWA District 1 and IUE-CWA 201 are collaborating to advocate for legislation in Massachusetts that would ensure that clean energy projects are staffed with highly qualified workers and promote the creation of good union jobs in clean energy projects.

IUE-CWA 201 President Adam Kaszynski testified before the Joint Committee on Labor & Workforce Development on July 19th, and District 1, IUE-CWA 201, and CWA Local 1400 submitted testimony to the Massachusetts legislature in support of the Clean Energy Workforce Standards and Accountability Act.

“Labor unions and environmental organizations are united in the understanding that our efforts to fight the devastating impact of climate change must not come at the expense of working families in Massachusetts,” read the testimony. “Transitioning to clean energy provides an important opportunity for Massachusetts to ensure the creation of new, good jobs that revitalize our communities and grow our economy.”
