20 technicians employed by International Game Technology (IGT) who fix gaming machines at Monticello, Aqueduct and Yonkers Raceway won their NLRB election to join CWA Local 1101.
The workers overcame a hard anti-union campaign run by Littler Mendelson P.C., a law firm specializing in representing management in employment and labor law. The committee members did a great job of building unity, taking over all captive audience meetings, and ensuring that all supporters wore CWA laniards.
These techs join 30 other IGT techs who joined CWA last year, as well as 25 techs who work for Ballys (now Scientific Gaming) who joined Local 1105 over 2 years ago.
CWA Organizers Ken Spatta and Keith Hogarty did a great job on this campaign.
