AT&T Mobility Members Fight Back Against New Attendance Policy

On May 1, AT&T Mobility implemented a new attendance policy for their retail stores which punishes workers for getting sick. If a worker is out sick more than 8 days a year, they are fired.

Members across the country took to the streets to demand the company change its policy.

CWAers donned surgical masks and gloves, passing out flyers saying “Please help us avoid being fired by wearing gloves and masks when you enter our stores.”

Share the flyer on Facebook to spread the word.

Under the new policy, sick days are not based on the calendar year. Instead, the year starts when the worker uses their first sick day. For example, if an employee used their first sick day on May 2, 2015, they could only use 8 sick days between that day and May 2, 2016.

We’ll keep taking action to demand the company bargain with the Union for a policy that works for employees.
