Justice for Workers! Join Mayor de Blasio and the WFP on Wednesday, October 8
Last year we made history when we helped to elect Bill de Blasio, NYC's most pro-labor progressive in more than half a century. Now we're joining hands with the Mayor and the Working Families Party to make history again -- by ending big corporate control of the New York State Senate.
To kick off a campaign to win justice for workers and to win both a Democratic-WFP majority in the State Senate and have a strong showing on the WFP line on Election Day, join Mayor Bill de Blasio and the Working Families Party on Wednesday, October 8 at 6pm.
The event is free, but tickets are required to attend.
This is a very big moment for our state. If we can win back the State Senate, here are just some of what is within our reach as soon as this spring:
- Campaign finance reform to fundamentally change our elections, make them fairer, and allow for even more victories for workers in the future,
- A $10.10 minimum wage to win justice for low-wage workers across the state -- and the ability for localities like NYC to raise their minimum wage even higher,
- A full Women’s Equality Act to safeguard women’s reproductive health,
- A DREAM Act to open opportunities for children of immigrant New Yorkers, and
- The decriminalization of minor marijuana possession so we can stop needlessly jailing our youth, especially young people of color.
Together, we have brought about an historic shift in NY state politics. We’ve made the impossible possible. Now we need to make it real.
That’s the message that we'll be sending to the entire state on October 8th.

I’ll see you there!
