Local 1120 Members Rally for a Fair Contract with Marist College

Workers at Marist College in Dutchess County, NY have been at the bargaining table since February, with little movement made by the employer other than insultingly low wage proposals and demands for givebacks on retiree healthcare.

On July 31st CWA Local 1120 members, including workers from nearby Vassar College and from Verizon, rallied to tell Marist College: enough is enough! It's time to get serious about bargaining and negotiate a fair contract for workers who help keep the college running.

“We were thrilled with the amount of solidarity and energy at our first mobilization event!" said Eileen Mastrantuono, a Steward and member of the 1120 Legislative Political Action Team. "Having the support from Vassar College and Verizon was a first for us and made the event even more impactful. We were blown away by the amount of community support we saw as well."
