We Remember Terri Legierski
Our Legislative/Political Director Terri Legierski passed away on February 19th, 2024. She was an amazing person. She always said, always wear red and don’t forget to take a photo to let everyone know CWA was in the house. Terri also wore many hats. She was a delegate to the WNY CWA Council and the WNY Area Labor Federation (AFL-CIO) and served on the Buffalo Central Labor Council’s Labor Day Parade and Picnic Committee, as well as a member of the CWA District 1 Healthcare Coordinating Council, the NY Statewide Senior Action Council, the NYS Alliance for Retired Americans, and the WNY CWA Retired Members Council. They worked in conjunction with the Northland Workforce Training Center, the WNY Committee on Health & Safety, the Coalition for Economic Justice (she was honored to have been the Emcee for their 2013 Awards Dinner), the Clean Air Coalition, Say Yes Buffalo, Open Buffalo, and PUSH Buffalo. She also served on the Live Well Erie Working Families Subcommittee on Workforce de/re-development. She was a graduate of the Clara Allen CWA Leadership School, 2005, 2006 and 2017 at Cornell University School of Industrial and Labor Relations, a proud recipient of the Buffalo Central Labor Council’s 2018 Activist of the Year Award, and the 2017 “Women Touching the World “Award presented by Celebrating Unlimited Possibilities Overcoming Poverty Ministry Inc. She loved her job and serving and representing our members! She had 2 kids and 2 grandchildren and loved sitting by a pool in Florida with her children. She will be missed by everyone that knew her. Rest in Power Terri
