Committees Forming

Do you want to be more involved? Are there things you see in the community that you think the Local should be involved in? Have you heard about our committees? Local 1088 has an active Community Outreach committee that holds food drives, toiletry drives and other charitable actions. Our Social Committee plans the Local's social events. If you are a party person come help us plan. Are you interested in Social Justice? Our Women's and Equity Committee or our Human Rights committee may be the one for you. Or maybe you want to see change at a higher level and you are interested in taking political action to elect union-friendly politicians and legislation that will strengthen the Labor Movement. If so you belong on our Political and Legislative committee. Or maybe you are a future Labor Leader who is looking to develop your skills and knowledge of the Labor Movement. Our Next-Gen committee is for our members under 35 to become active. 

Each of our committees meets once per month and all are looking for new members. Contact any of our eboard members and they will put you in touch with the correct chairperson. Most meetings are being conducted by Zoom - so you can be as active as you want and still be in your pj's!
