Tell Gov. Murphy: Stand with Workers and Delay Healthcare Hike Approval Meeting!

New Jersey's public sector workers in State and Local Governments have given their all to keep New Jersey going strong - we provide vital public services, make sure that NJ’s roads remain open and residents get the assistance they need, and manage every public service from libraries to education to the DMV and beyond.
We're the engine that keeps this state going.
But there's serious trouble ahead of us right now as the State Health Benefits Commission (SHBC) is considering massive increases to our rates:
- 16% for Local Government workers
- 10.6% for State Government workers
This change comes after we bargained our contract with the State last year, and after the NJ Legislature passed their Fiscal Year 2025 budget, and with just a couple of weeks' notice for CWA to review proposed changes. And that's on top of how much healthcare premiums have already increased over the past several years. That's not right!
The SHBC has a meeting to approve the rate increases scheduled for July 29. We have less than two weeks to delay the implementation of these increases and give ourselves more time to work with the State to find a solution that keeps our healthcare affordable - so we have to act right now.
