CWA District 1 Announces Endorsement in NY-26 Special Election
Union Backing Tim Kennedy for Higgins Seat
NEW YORK - Following the announcement of a Special Election by Governor Kathy Hochul on April 30th to fill the vacant seat in Congressional District 26, CWA District 1 announced today their endorsement of NY State Senator Tim Kennedy to fill the open seat, citing his strong track record of legislative achievements and commitment to New York's working families.
“No one has been a stronger champion for working families or the communities of Western New York than Tim Kennedy," said Dennis G. Trainor, Vice President, CWA District 1. "From passing vital pieces of legislation like the New York Call Center Jobs Act to protect call center workers and strengthen our collective bargaining rights by reducing waiting time for striking workers to collect Unemployment, to walking our picket lines during our 2021 strike by healthcare workers fighting for safe patient care in Buffalo, to joining our rallies and speaking out on behalf of our members, Tim Kennedy has been a true and consistent friend to workers, and he's who we need representing District 26 in Congress!"
