Political Action Trainings Series
All trainings will be held virtually this year! We'll be meeting regularly via Zoom and have three levels of training coming up, beginning in August, in preperation for our fall political program.
Bootcamp - Beginning Training Level
The goal of this training is:
- Understand the reasons we do this work
- How to organize
- Understand what we will be doing and how we will be doing it this fall
August 24 & 26
Who's it for?
CWA members who are new to political action and activist training and are interested in being a part of our electoral efforts this year.
Power Building School - Activist Level
Registration is now closed.
The goal of this training is to ensure our trainers and activists:
- Are able to recruit volunteers remotely
- Know how to use online tools like zoom, hubdialer, hustle etc. to run our voter outreach programs
- Understand new rules and timelines around early voting and vote by mail.
- Have the political education to make meaning of this moment and why NOW is the time to really push our issues forward.
August 11 - 27, Tuesdays & Thursdays
Who's it for?
CWA members who are committed to be a part of our electoral effort this year.
Intensive - Advanced Training Level
We will go over:
- Volunteer recruitment and volunteer retention during COVID-19
- Listening skills
- Presentations at worksite meeting
- Public speaking skills
- Conversations with members about political action
- Effective mobilization ask, including signing members up to the Political Action Fund
- Keeping track of work and progress
- Understanding the importance of electoral politics
September 8 - November 3, Tuesdays & Thursdays
Who's it for?
LPAT members who are committed to complete this program and will do a lot of volunteer work phone banking in the evenings after the training in the day.
