New York: Local 1109 Members Demand Accountability from Congress

On May 16th CWA Local 1109 members on Long Island joined a chorus of voices from labor and community groups to tell Congress: No cuts to our hard-earned retirement!
The rally was directed at Representative Anthony D’Esposito, demanding that he denounce a Republican Study Committee budget proposal that includes cuts to Medicaid and a possible rise in the retirement age
“Low and middle-income workers and seniors cannot afford to live with the changes that the [Republican Study Committee] wants to force on us,” said Local 1109’s Michael Gendron. “We need representatives like Anthony D’Esposito to start representing US! We need Representative D’Esposito to tell the RSC: NO!”
