Local 1037 Members Urge New Jersey Congressman to Build Back Better

On Tuesday, August 24th, CWA Local 1037 joined several other unions and community groups, including SEIU32BJ, AFSCME, Rutgers AAUP-AFT, and several others, for a rally at Rep. Josh Gottheimer’s office in New Jersey to urge him to support the Build Back Better plan.
The Build Back Better Plan, a budget resolution, would provide long-awaited investments in working families, education, healthcare, and climate.
“While we appreciate his strong support for the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA), that bill is insufficient on its own to meet the needs of Americans today,” the unions said in a statement. “By advancing the infrastructure bill along with the Build Back Better reconciliation package, with its commitments to living-wage care jobs with the opportunity to join together in a union, Congress can take bold measures needed to meet essential workers’ demands for common-sense and transformative policy solutions.”
