Local 1031, East Brunswick Public Library
One year after voting to join CWA Local 1031, workers at the East Brunswick Public Library in East Brunswick, NJ are ramping up their mobilization efforts to help secure their first union contract.
Following a rally in mid-March in front of the library by workers and supporters, workers marched on the the Library Board Meeting on March 19 to present the Board of Trustees with a massive petition signed by the members demanding "respect and dignity through a good union contract." The workers are seeking equitable salary increases, fair treatment for part-time staff, modernized workplaces, working conditions that will help recruit and maintain staff, and more.
