Graduate Workers Turn Up the Pressure to Put an End to Mandatory Fees

Graduate workers within the State University of New York (SUNY) university system, members of CWA Local 1104, have struggled under the weight of unbearable fees that they’re required to pay back to the universities, sometimes amounting to as much as 15% of their total annual income from the university. The result is many workers living close to poverty level and having to resort to working multiple jobs, living in their cars, and even selling blood plasma in order to make ends meet.
GSEU members at SUNY Albany have ramped up their efforts over the last several weeks to abolish their fees, with rallies, marches, and an online petition to SUNY Albany leadership - and you can help!
