CWA Hits the Streets for Hochul, Medicare
Kathy Hochul's opponent, Assemblywoman Jane Corwin, supports the so-called "Paul Ryan" budget. This budget, which passed the U.S. House on a virtual party-line vote, eliminates Medicare as we know it while cutting taxes for millionaires. CWA members in Erie and Monroe Counties have been educating CWA members and other union members about this crucial difference on where these candidates stand.
Fourteen CWAers from locals 1122, 1133 and 1168 went door to door to talk to their fellow union members on Saturday in Erie County as part of the Western New York Area Labor Federation's labor walk. CWA volunteers have called every CWA member who lives in the district at least twice. The latest polls show the election will be extremely close as more and more people learn about the Ryan budget.
