CWA Local 1103 Members Rally on Tax Day, Telling Congress: TAX THE RICH!
Did you know? Major corporations and our country’s most wealthy actually pay less in taxes than average working class earners. And what has the current Congressional majority done about it? Absolutely nothing! In fact, the current Congressional majority has proposed massive cuts to Social Security and Medicare—our hard-earned retirement.
Yesterday, in honor of Tax Day, CWA Local 1103 rallied alongside several other labor and community organizations in Ossining, NY to call on Congress—specifically, New York Congressman Mike Lawler, representing NY’s Congressional District 17, to make corporations and the ultra rich pay their fair share!
“Rep, Lawler, it’s not enough to say you won’t vote to cut Social Security,” said Local 1103’s Natalia Campbell. “You must fight openly and aggressively against your own party to stop them from even thinking about cutting Social Security. You need to DEMAND a Fair TAX CODE that forces the Rich and Powerful to pay their fair share—not just more giveaways to the powerful that we working class Americans have to pay for.”
