Collaboration Across State Lines, Fighting For Broadband Buildout

CWA Local 1103 (New York) and Local 1298 (Connecticut) Executive Board Members and leaders came together on August 10th to share ideas and discuss the challenges and opportunities we have in the federal Infrastructure, Investment and Jobs Act - also known as the Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill. With $65 billion in deployment funding on the line, it’s important that CWA is involved in ensuring that this money goes to good jobs with strong labor standards.
The two locals discussed the unique legislative and political processes within each state and strategies for using this moment to ramp up our organizing efforts and help more workers join CWA, as well as ideas around hiring halls, trade certifications, and RFP’s.
