Bargaining Updates - Local 1122 Visiting Nurse Association Contract Ratified!

After months of tough negotiations and mobilization spanning across several worksites throughout Western New York, CWA Local 1122 members at the Visiting Nursing Association voted overwhelmingly to ratify their new three-year contract last week with the largest voter turnout the VNA bargaining unit has ever seen. The new contract covers over 600 workers including nurses, therapists, social workers, pharmacists, clerical staff, warehouse techs, and delivery drivers.
Despite the tough logistics of mobilization with a bargaining unit spread across several counties, CWA Local 1122’s mobilization team, “The Red Dragons,” successfully brought the membership together with rallies, meetings, and events at several VNA branch offices.
The 2024-2027 contract includes wage increases in each year of the contract, additional PTO and holidays as well as more flexibility on PTO, improvements to the on-call standards, hybrid remote work language, and more, with no givebacks.
